Personal Assistant for High-school student

The Personal Assistant provides physical assistance to enable mobility challenged male student to participate in studies and community activities. The position is based in Espoo/Helsinki and averages **40 working hours per week on normal school weeks**. Working hours are agreed according to student's individual needs between typically between 7:30 - 17:00. Work will start at 12.8.2026 till 5.6.2027 according to school term. (School term dates and holidays | City of Helsinki / "General upper secondary schools" 2026-2027 : https://www.hel.fi/en/childhood-and-education/school-term-dates-and-holidays ) Main Duties: The Personal Assistant's responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Assisting the student when traveling and getting into and out of taxis and other means of transport. - Assisting with wheelchair mobility both indoors and outdoors. - Providing practical assistance with daily activities related to school and studies, including moving between locations, handling personal belongings, and other tasks as needed. - Assisting with personal hygiene needs (e.g. toilet help) in accordance with the student wishes and instructions. - Observe suitability of upcoming learning material and convert proactively to digital as required by student or teachers. - Providing practical assistance with other everyday activities as required by the student. The assistant works according to the student's instructions and preferences, respecting the student's privacy, dignity, self-determination, and independence at all times. Qualifications - Reliable, responsible, and punctual. - Respectful and professional attitude. - Good communication skills (Finnish language is not required). - Ability to assist with mobility and everyday physical support. This requires good physical strength from personal assistant. - Suitability to work in high-school environment. - Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or in a similar role is an advantage but is not required. Appropriate orientation will be provided. This position is intended to support the student's participation in everyday school-life. It is not a healthcare or nursing role, but a position providing practical personal assistance in accordance with the student's individual needs.
