Chief Designer / Project manager (MSP)

As a result we have with our operationally established account within wood processing machinery in Lahti region an intriguing engineering position for you. Leveraging your mechanical design discipline experience preferably with special purpose machines (SPM) why not take on the challenge of leading this order-based mechanical design service with us? Like the job title implies the job role is two-pronged. You are the Project Manager making sure our service commitment as a whole both develops in the direction outlined and with deliverables meeting requirements pre-defined together with the customer. Further the role holds a Chief Designer element requiring hands-on interaction with project managers and chief designers for securing relevant design kick-off data to be then diced and sliced between your design team members in Finland and India. After successful ramp-up work can partly be done remotely. The assignment is also suitable for a freelance entrepreneur part of our supplier network. We expect of you: -relevant M.Sc./B.Sc.mechanical engineering degree. - 5+ years relevant 3D CAD design (preferably PLM context by PTC) work experience and preferably within wood processing machinery (or other SPM). - proven track from leading as Chief Engineer design-to-order team activities and members or strong aptitude for assuming the role. - good intra-stakeholder English written and oral communicating skills while some Finnish skills is a competitive advantage. - and of course, the ability to work independently and at times on simultaneous projects under the occasional time pressure.
